Again With You

From July 25th to September 6th LABottega, photographic gallery sited in Marina di Pietrasanta (Tuscany, Italy), displays thirty pics by Jacob Aue Sobol, Danish photographer and member of Magnum Photos. The exhibition – entitled With You and curated by Serena Del Soldato and Claudio Composti in partnership with mc2gallery – shows various works from different projects in order to create a journal of the artist’s journeys and experiences.
Sobol’s gaze focuses his attention on instinct, on his particular ability in revealing the essential features of the portrayed subject: «When I photograph, I try to use my instincts as much as possible. It is when pictures are unconsidered and irrational that they come to life; that they evolve from showing to being».
His pictures – part of the the series I, Tokio, Arrivals and Departures, Home Copenaghen and Sabine – reveal in their compositions not only an interest in this irrational part of human being, but also an attention on the aesthetic side. The artist, in fact, creates high chiaroscuro and showed cuts to underline the real and primordial essence of people he has known and observed.
Already presented in Milan, the exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday, July 25th, at 7 pm.

Amina Okuyeva poses for the photo in a flat she shares with her mother and son. She was on Maidan from December 2014 working as a medical volunteer. In that time her husband was in prison accused of the attempt to kill Russian President Putin. After Euromaidan revolution he was pardoned and together with Amina joined international peacekeeping battalion of volunteers to support Ukraine in fighting against the pro-Russian insurgency.
