COTM 2018: New Visions

The international photography festival Cortona On The Move announces the second edition of New Visions, the call for entry open to photographers from around the world and organised in collaboration with LensCulture, the global collective of photographers and professionals of the sector as well as one of the largest online communities in the world for the discovery of contemporary photography.
The aim is to carry forward the path of appreciation and discovery of the language of contemporary photography that has always characterised Cortona On The Move, whose eighth edition will take place from 12th July to 13th September 2018 as always in the historical centre of Cortona. New Visions is in fact an open invitation to seek new ideas of photography, able to adapt to changes in society and culture to communicate a strong message and offer new emotions.

To participate in New Vision 2018 just send, through the LensCulture (available here) «original works of a documentary type, which are designed with honest intentions and that are not afraid to experiment». Each author may submit up to a maximum of fifteen images in JPEG or PNG format, with the longest side of a minimum size of 1200 pixels and a maximum of 2000 pixels. Participants will also have given the title of the proposed work, a brief presentation (maximum 4000 characters, including spaces) and their own short biography (not a CV).

The jury – composed of Antonio Carloni (director of Cortona On The Move), Arianna Rinaldo (artistic director of Cortona On The Move), Jim Casper (editor-in-chief and co-founder of LensCulture) and Laura Sacket (creative director of LensCulture) – will then assess the originality of the style and language of the submitted work, selecting a shortlist of fifteen finalists. Among these the three winners will be chosen, whose works will be exhibited during the eighth edition of Cortona On The Move. But not only. Four projects will also be published on Repubblica.it during the month of July 2018, while another eight projects will be selected and then screened, together with those of all the finalists, during the opening days of the event (12th-14th July 2018).
More information about the competition and related methods of participation are available at the web page in the Info reported.
