Photographers and enthusiasts should block off July 16th in their diaries, the official opening date for Cortona On The Move – photography in travel. The Festival, which is organised by Associazione Culturale ONTHEMOVE, will be directed for the fourth year by Arianna Rinaldo who will guide visitors through the festival’s itinerary of stories, journeys, innovation and experimentation. Some of this year’s highlights include Maybe by Phillip Toledano, Japan by James Whitlow Delano, La Ville Noire by Giovanni Troilo and a special retrospective of Mario Giacomelli's photography. The festival also hosts a Focus on Russia, curated by Andrei Polikanov.
From July to September this year, as in past editions, the streets and vicoli of Cortona will be the backdrop for Cortona On The Move – a crossroad where new talents and amateurs can meet some of the world’s most acclaimed professional photographers. The first weekend (July 16th - 19th) will be devoted to inaugurations, presentations, workshops and portfolio readings by top national and international photo editors. Exhibitions will be located in the marvellous town centre of Cortona and in the Fortezza Medicea del Girifalco, a magnificent 16th century fortress perched on the hilltop behind Cortona.
FPmag will be present at the event as media partner, and will offer you daily news about this young but promising Festival. For more information, follow the hashtag COTM2015.
