Kashi: between journalism and activism

During the opening day of the Sixth Edition of the Festival of the Ethical Photography in Lodi we met Ed Kashi, photojournalist of the VII Photo Agency, at the venue of his exhibition Under Cane: A Worker's Epidemic. The work is included in the Themed Area: Food that Kills housed in the former Church of St. Christopher and produced thanks to the contribution of Fujifilm Italy. In addition to illustrating his project from the start, Kashi has also commented for readers of FPmag the image he deems most significant within the whole work.

Amina Okuyeva poses for the photo in a flat she shares with her mother and son. She was on Maidan from December 2014 working as a medical volunteer. In that time her husband was in prison accused of the attempt to kill Russian President Putin. After Euromaidan revolution he was pardoned and together with Amina joined international peacekeeping battalion of volunteers to support Ukraine in fighting against the pro-Russian insurgency.
