Pink Lady® Food Photographer

Supported by a leading food sponsor, Pink Lady® apple, the final selection of 2017 winners of the famous International Food Photographer of the Year competition, has exhibited in the Voies Off at Arles. A really interesting show, it is enough just to look at the photo of the overall winner, Shoeb Faruquee, entitled Food for God, to understand that the jury of the Food Photographer of the Year 2017 has not been charmed by the usual, perfect food pictures, shifting its attention to anything but still life images, but rather filled with life and emotion.

The show, containing over twenty of the winning images in the different themes, was a time of reflection to understand how to approach food photography with singular and totally different approaches.
The jury of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2017 was made up of Vitalie Taittinger, Marketing Director Champagne Taittinger, David Loftus, one of the world's most famous food photographers, best known for his work with Jamie Oliver, Emily Luchetti, chairman of the Board of Trustees - James Beard Foundation, Nik Powell, director of National Film & Television School and co-founder of Virgin Records and Gary Rhodes, famous chef and restaurateur. Amina Okuyeva poses for the photo in a flat she shares with her mother and son. She was on Maidan from December 2014 working as a medical volunteer. In that time her husband was in prison accused of the attempt to kill Russian President Putin.
