On Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th of April 2016 at Micamera in Milan there will be a workshop with the French photographer Antoine D'Agata, member of Magnum Photos since 2004.
A great opportunity to spend two days in a class with this successful photographer, looking at images, listening to the author, looking at his work, talking about photography, cinema, literature, inspirations and influences. Antoine d’Agata is a contentious character in the worlds of photography and art. He explores the darkest sides of life, with drug-fuelled sex binges bleeding over the edges of depravity. Destroying the line between living and making art, his images are autobiographical, animalistic, and as horrifying as they are beautiful. «My character – explains the photographer – is a fiction that embodies a tragedy the writing of which blends into the experience that created it. In a space where tensions between reality and fiction take form, I dismiss identity to blend into the exuberance of pure life».
During the workshop – meant for a group of 13 students – the participants can show their own work. There will be no shooting outside. Antoine d’Agata will be at Micamera for a booksigning on Friday, April 8th, 2016, at 7,00 pm. More information about the workshop are available here.
