TIPC 2015

The goal of the TIPC (Tokyo International Photography Competition) is to create a series of cultural and geographical bridges between the world’s largest photographic communities. It provides a unique opportunity for photographers from across the world to present their artistic visions beyond their country’s borders and open up possibilities for cross-pollination and cross-border collaborations.
The theme of this edition is The Human Condition and participants can submit JPEG images saved with max quality compression with a long dimension of at least 1,400 pixels at 72dpi and no more than 2000 pixels, with either Adobe1998, sRGB or untagged color space. There is no limit to the number of entries allowed per person.
One photographer will be chosen by the Jury (Grand Prix Winner) to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to participate in the Tokyo International Photography Festival taking place in October 2015, in Tokyo, Japan. Fourthermore a group of 8 photographers will be selected by our Jury to present their work in a traveling exhibition that will kick off in Tokyo (JP), before heading out to New York (USA), Berlin (DE), Guatemala City (GT), and beyond.

Amina Okuyeva poses for the photo in a flat she shares with her mother and son. She was on Maidan from December 2014 working as a medical volunteer. In that time her husband was in prison accused of the attempt to kill Russian President Putin.
