Where is photojournalism going?

During the opening weekend of the Festival of Ethical Photography 2015 in Lodi, we met Lucy Conticello, photo editor of Le Monde, who is involved in the event as a member of the jury of World.Report Award | Documenting Humanity 2015. Given her kindness and her vivacious willingness, we took the opportunity to ask her opinion on the present and future of photojournalism.
What we publish here is just a brief excerpt of her long speech, which will be screened in full on Sunday, 18^th October, 2015 during the conference Ethics and Photojournalism: a complex relationship, organised by FPmag as part of the event in Lodi. The meeting is scheduled at the Teatro alle Vigne, starting at 10.30, and will include as speakers: Elio Franzini (Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Università Statale di Milano), Pietro Collini (scholar of photographic languages), Marco Capovilla (photojournalist, professor of Photojournalism at the Libera Università di Lingue e Communicazione IULM in Milan, president of Fotografia & Informazione), Sandro Iovine (Editor in chief of FPmag), Gianmarco Maraviglia (Director of Echo Photojornalism) and Emanuela Mirabelli (Photo editor of Marie Claire).
